Organize Your Linen Closet

Cupboards and closets can easily fall into the "out of sight, out of mind" category when organizing your spaces. A linen closet is a useful, yet small space that can be kept organized if thought out correctly.

The first step to keeping an organized linen closet is to create areas for each type of object you plan on keeping in there. Labeled baskets can be used to keep linens, towels or toiletries separated. Don't be afraid of installing smart shelving if you don't have enough different areas.

For convenience, linen sets should be stored together. Avoid having to topple the whole closet to find that last pillowcase. Ribbons or bags can be used to keep each set together.

The door is often underused in linen closets. Shelving or racks can be hung on the door to make maximum use of the linen closet storage space. The door can also be an out of the way area to keep your ironing board.

Some objects kept in your linen closet may be better suited to be rolled or folded. Large towels may be more compact folded flat while smaller ones might take up less space rolled and in a bin. Experiment with your closet to maximize the usage of this small storage space.
